Defining My Terms
Sabbath Evenings
These posts are devotional — scripture interwoven with life. Published at 4:00 Sunday afternoons.
Humor and Satire
I could not counsel well, let alone live out my own story if I did not insert or be inserted-upon humorous thoughts, cartoons, etc . Satire is useful to point out the irony of what people expect coupled with what is actually true. Each are a means to help people take themselves less seriously and used when it is genuine and appropriate. The humor I share is not intended to be malicious or cause harm.
Snapshots
Ansel Adams, American photographer best known for his black and white photographs said “A photograph is usually looked at – seldom looked into.” On Fridays I will post a photograph [without comment from me] for the reader to “look into.” What do you see on first look? second look? Does the photo have a meaning that makes sense for you personally? Is there a story? Submit a title if one comes to your mind. Or not. Sometimes a photo is just that – a photo. Meaning-making is in the eyes of the viewer.
